Using a Post Hole Borer to Build a Fence | Ryno hire

When you are building a fence, you need posts to support the fence. To dig these holes to place the posts in, you will need a post-hole borer.

How do You Choose the Right Post-Hole Borer?

When selecting a post-hole borer, the first thing to consider is the size of the hole you want to dig in terms of depth and diameter. If you wish to create a giant hole, go for more extensive or borers that two people operate. If you want to make smaller holes, choose a one-person borer.

The first step when using a post hole borer to build a fence is to measure and mark where you want the post to go. When you measure out the hole, you should keep in mind that the spot should be twice the diameter of the post, so make sure you allow enough room between each hole for that space. Once you are done measuring and marking, start digging. Use the post hole borer to drill the holes.

How do You Use a Post-Hole Borer?

● Before starting the engine of the borer, make sure to brace yourself and stand with your knees slightly bent. If it is a two-person borer, ensure the other person is on the other side of the borer.

● Turn on the fuel supply and power switch, and pull the starter cord to get the engine going.

● Start slow and let the borer start digging into the ground until you've reached a depth of around six inches.

● Once you have reached your depth, take out the borer and remove the dirt to remove excessive weight.

● You can then return the borer to the hole, using the same process of digging and removing the dirt until you’ve reached the correct depth.

After you’ve finished digging the holes, set the posts in the holes with concrete. Start by pre-soaking the hole with water to drain the soil. Next, add a layer of gravel at the bottom of each hole. Set the post in the middle of the hole on top of the gravel. Pour the concrete around the post and wait for it to set.
